ELLEN B. ROTHENBERG has served as general counselor to school districts and other units of local government for over nine years, with a concentration in labor relations and employment matters.  Ms. Rothenberg has had extensive experience in public sector labor law, including collective bargaining, contract administration and grievance arbitration, as well as labor-related and employment litigation in judicial and administrative proceedings.  She is a frequent speaker on labor topics, including interest-based bargaining techniques and subcontracting. 

Ms. Rothenberg also lectures on personnel matters, such as the coordination of leave rights, conducting employee evaluations, and discipline and dismissal procedures.  She is the co-author of the National School Boards Association publication Identifying and Responding to Disabled Employees under the Americans with Disabilities Act

Ms. Rothenberg graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin, Madison with a B.B.A. in Finance and received her law degree with high honors from Chicago-Kent College of Law.  In law school, she served as a member on the Chicago-Kent Law Review, and was elected to the Kent Legal Scholars and Order of the Coif.  Prior to entering law school, Ms. Rothenberg worked for two years as a financial analyst at Abbott Laboratories.
