Hodges, Loizzi, Eisenhammer, Rodick & Kohn hires second year law students for its summer associate program and third year law students for entry level associate positions.  We look for students with strong academic credentials and excellent oral advocacy and writing skills who have the potential of becoming one of our partners.  During the fall recruiting season, we visit Illinois law schools to interview second and third year law students, depending on our hiring needs.  If we are not visiting your law school during the fall recruiting season and you are interested in our summer associate program or an entry level associate position, please forward your cover letter, resume and writing sample to the recruiting committee in Arlington Heights.

ENTRY LEVEL ASSOCIATES

In order to assist our associates to be successful at the firm, each associate is assigned to a partner who closely monitors the associate's progress.  The associate receives feedback on his or her performance on a project basis and through an annual comprehensive written evaluation.  Our firm offers first year associates the opportunity to receive assignments in each of the firm's practice areas.  Each associate rotates through each of the firm's practice areas and attends the meetings in each practice group during the respective rotating cycle.  First year associates are still allowed to complete projects in the other practice group areas during rotation.  Also, if a first year associate prefers one area of law, the firm is sensitive to these preferences and attempts to develop an associate's expertise in those areas of interest.  First year associates also perform the bulk of the work in the firm's annual school law seminar which reviews the current status of school law for our clients as this is an excellent introduction to our firm's practice areas.

SUMMER ASSOCIATES

Our firm offers summer associates a range of experiences that will allow them to work in each one of the firm's practice areas.  Summer associates may have the opportunity to observe or participate in a variety of meetings including  board meetings, special education team meetings, client meetings, court and administrative hearing matters, real estate closings, collective bargaining negotiations sessions.  Summer associates attend the practice group meetings for each of our practice groups as well as our continuing legal education seminars.  Summer associates also assist the firm in reviewing legal decisions and legislation in preparation for our firm's annual school law seminar.
